Central Europe sits at the crossroads of Slavic, Germanic, and Romanic cultures, providing a fascinating mix of traditions and influences. With its rich history, diverse cultures, stunning architecture, picturesque landscapes, and charming cities offer a unique blend of medieval, baroque, and modern influences all within a relatively compact region, making it perfect for exploring multiple destinations on one beercation!
Our Central European Beercation also is unlike any of our other beercations as in the 12-days we will only change hotels 3 times as this tour will stay 4-nights in Ljubljana, Slovenia, 3-nights in Zagreb, Croatia, and finish with 4-nights in Budapest, Hungary during the Budapest Beer Week - including attending the BPBW Beer Fest!
Beyond diving deeper into these three cities with guided tours, brewery visits, and craft-beer-focused pub crawls, we will take a day trip to Lake Bled in Slovenia and stop in the small village of Žalec in the Slovenian hop-growing region. From Zagreb, we will visit some of Croatia's natural beauty and castles during a day trip and on the journey from Zagreb to Budapest, and in Budapest, we will participate in the Budapest Beer Week events as well as give you free time to visit and explore the famous thermal baths of this Amazing city!
All hotels are centrally located, comfortable 3 or 4-star hotels.
Travel between cities and for day-trips by private coach. Water, soft drinks, and beer complimentary on the bus.
Beercationers need to book their own round trip airfare.

Our first city of our Central European Beercation is Ljubljana, Slovenia, the countries capital and largest city. Known for its university population and green spaces, including expansive Tivoli Park, the curving Ljubljanica River, lined in outdoor cafes, divides the city's old town from its commercial hub.
This is our meet city, and where we will spend the first 4 days of our beercation, starting with our Group Welcome Dinner.
This morning we will tour Ljubljana by bike, with a bike tour of Old Town, and learn all about this fairytale-feeling city and find out what is up with all the dragons around town!? After our bike tour we will have group lunch before giving you the afternoon to explore on your own.
Later in the evening we will visit several craft beer bars including Tektonik and LOO-BLAH-NAH Craft Brewery, where the latter also serves food, on a Ljubljana Craft Beer Pub Crawl!
Today is a free morning. Sleep in, plan to visit the daily markets, or take in a museum. There is so much to see in Ljubljana! Later this afternoon we will visit one of the largest breweries in the area, Pivovarna Union, for a tour, beer tasting, and a group dinner.
Today we will take a day trip to Lake Bled in the Julian Alps of the Upper Carniolan region of northwestern Slovenia, where it adjoins the town of Bled.
Bled Island in the center of the lake is a popular destination, and the traditional transportation to the Island is a wooden boat known as a pletna. Some sources claim the pletna was used in Lake Bled as early as AD 1150, but most historians date the first boats to AD 1590.
Similar in shape to Italian gondolas, a pletna seats 20 passengers. Modern boats are still made by hand and are recognizable by their colorful awnings.
We will return to Ljubljana in the afternoon and will have a tour and group dinner
Today we depart Ljubljana and make our into the Slovenian hop region where we will stop at the small town of Žalec. Here we will visit the Hop Museum and grab a beer from the world's only city square beer fountain! You will have a little time to explore and grab a bite to eat if you are hungry, before we continue on our way to Zagreb, Croatia.
Once we arrive in Zagreb and check into our hotel, you will have a bit of free time before our group dinner.
In the evening, use you PubCulture.Beer digital map to create a D.I.Y. Pub Crawl to some of the best craft beer spots in town!
Our day starts with a guided tour of Zagreb, where you will learn the interesting history of the city. We will stop for lunch at a traditional beer hall, before finishing our tour in the early afternoon.
The rest of the day if free for you to explore Zagreb.
This morning we will have a tour of Budapest, followed by a group lunch, before we go to the BPBW BeerFest! Your admission in to the fest if included in your beercation
