Many of our beercationers choose to at arrive at least one day before the start of Pub Culture Beercation’s “Czech It Out” tours to compensate for delays should they experience problems while traveling to Czechia and to help reduce the possibility of jet lag by allowing them to get a good night’s sleep before “Day 1” of the tour.
Please note - Pub Culture Beercation participants are responsible for booking and purchasing their own flights. Also, any additional days prior to the scheduled “Day 1” are not included in your cost. Participants arriving early will be responsible for any travel arrangements, reservations, and payments for hotels and any other additional costs associated with arriving before the official start of the tour, unless they purchase our Early Arrival Add On where we will handle your hotel reservation for the night before the official start of the tour assuring you will not have to change rooms, as well as taking care of dinner reservations that evening.
(The last day to depart for Prague is June 3, 2027)
Arrival at Prague International Airport - (PRG)
Václav Havel Airport Prague
If you choose to arrive on the day of, make sure your flight arrives early enough that you will get to the Brewery Hotel U Medvídků to drop your bags and make it for our first event – The Beercation Welcome Toast at the U Medvídků Restaurant Bar at 2:00PM!
After arriving at Prague International Airport - Václav Havel Airport Prague you will need to arrange transportation to Hotel U Medvídků, check -in, and prepare for the first event of your beercation.
You can take public transportation, which would include taking a bus from the airport to the metro/tram and take it as close as just a 4 minute walk from the hotel.
You can also grab a taxi, hail a ride share with Uber or Bolt, or arrange transfer directly through Hotel U Medvídků. If booking though the hotel they will ask for your flight number/time so the driver can monitor if your flight should be delayed. If booked through Hotel U Medvídků you will pay the driver directly at drop-off.
Brewery Hotel U Medvídků is a unique 3-star hotel located in a former 15th-century brewery in the heart of Prague. It offers a blend of historical charm and modern amenities, preserving features like Gothic trusses and painted timber ceilings in some of its 45 rooms.
The hotel is renowned for its on-site microbrewery, producing what as beem call "the world's strongest beer", XBEER-33, and a selection of other Czech and Moravian brews. The hotel also features a traditional restaurant serving typical Czech cuisine and a pub offering a wide variety of beers.
Additionally, Brewery Hotel U Medvídků boasts a full-service spa, Brewery Spa, offering beer baths and massages, and a hot tub for relaxation.
The hotel's excellent location is within walking distance of major attractions like Old Town Square, Charles Bridge, and the National Theatre with friendly and attentive staff, comfortable rooms, and delicious food... oh, and don't miss that complimentary beer at check-in!
Many of our beercationers choose to arrive at least one day before the start of their Pub Culture Beercation tour to compensate for delays should they experience problems while traveling to the destination and meet-up point. Plus, arriving early also helps reduce the possibility of jetlag by allowing you to get a good night’s sleep before “Day 1” of the tour.
While most beercationers are excited to get to their destination, we recommended to try and arrive so that you get to the meet up hotel on time, or if arriving a day early, get to the hotel for check-in time so you don’t have to store your luggage and “wander” around until your room is ready to actually check-in.
When you arrive early in the morning, and if you didn’t arrange for early check-in, or your room isn’t ready – and if you didn’t get much sleep on the plane – by the time you finally get into the room it is hard not to take a nap, and often people fall asleep for much longer than intended. When you wake up, not only are you wide awake, but it is also often much later in the day, and you throw your sleep schedule off even more than it already is… and this is when jetlag sets in.
Please note that, unless you book the "Early Arrival Add-On," any additional days prior to the scheduled “Day 1” are not included in your beercation cost. Participants arriving early will be responsible for any travel arrangements, hotel reservations, and any other costs associated with arriving before the official start of the tour.
To add nights before the "Early Arrival Add-On," or arriving before June 3, 2027, contact Hotel U Medvídků directly and let them know you are part of the Pub Culture Beercations' "Czech It Out" tour and need to book additional nights. You can ask to book the same room type so you won't have to change rooms.

Terezin was a concentration camp 30 miles north of Prague in the Czech Republic during the World War II. Originally a holiday resort reserved for Czech nobility, Terezín is contained within the walls of the famed fortress Theresienstadt, which was created by Emperor Joseph II of Austria in the late 18th century and named in honor of his mother, Empress Maria Theresa.
By 1940 Nazi Germany had assigned the Gestapo to turn Terezín into a Jewish ghetto and concentration camp. It held primarily Jews from Czechoslovakia, as well as tens of thousands of Jews deported from Germany and Austria, as well as hundreds from the Netherlands and Denmark. More than 150,000 Jews were sent there, including 15,000 children, and held there for months or years, before being sent by rail transports to their deaths at Treblinka and Auschwitz extermination camps in occupied Poland.
Less than 150 children survived.
Although Terezin was not an extermination camp, about 33,000 died in the ghetto. This was mostly due to the appalling conditions arising out of extreme population density, malnutrition and disease.
