Many of our beercationers choose to arrive at least one day before the start of their Pub Culture Beercation tour to compensate for delays should they experience problems while traveling to the destination and meet-up point. Plus, arriving early also helps reduce the possibility of jetlag by allowing you to get a good night’s sleep before “Day 1” of the tour.
While most beercationers are excited to get to their destination, we recommended to try and arrive so that you get to the meet up point on time, or if arriving a day early, get to the hotel at check-in time so you don’t have to store your luggage and “wander” around until your room is ready to check-in.
When you arrive early in the morning, and if you didn’t arrange for early check-in, or your room isn’t ready – and if you didn’t get much sleep on the plane – by the time you finally get into the room it is hard not to take a nap, and often people fall asleep for much longer than intended. When you wake up, not only are you wide awake, but it is also often much later in the day, and you throw your sleep schedule off even more than it already is… and this is when jetlag sets in.
Please note, any additional days prior to the scheduled “Day 1” are not included in your cost. Participants arriving early will be responsible for any travel arrangements, reservations, and payments for hotels and any other additional costs associated with arriving before the official start of the tour.
There are two main options for arriving in Italy. Depending on the flights you are looking at the flight times and prices could have you looking at flying onto the Leonardo da Vinci Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO) and taking the train to Naples, or you can just book your flight directly to the Naples-Capodichino International Airport (NAP).
Thursday, November 6, 2025 is the last day for departure from the United States to the Naples-Capodichino International Airport (NAP) to arrive for "Day 1" of your beercation.
If you choose to arrive on the day of the start of the tour, make sure your flight arrives early enough that you will make the 3:05pm ferry to Sorrento, or you will have to catch up with the group on your own via the train, a bus, or taxi from Naples to our hotel in Sorrento.
Once you've decided which airport you will be booking your flight to Italy through, you will need to get yourself to the recommended hotel and/or pick-up point for the start of your beercation.
If you are choosing to arrive in Naples before your beecation starts on Friday, November 7, 2025 we recommend booking a room at the Hotel Mercure Napoli Centro Angioino.
If you are arriving on "Day 1" the Hotel Mercure Napoli Centro Angioino is also the meeting point where we will be loading our luggage on our private coach before we take take a short walk to the Naples Beverello Docks and board the Alilauro ferry to Sorrento.
To get to the Hotel Mercure Napoli Centro Angioino from either the Naples International Airport or from the Napoli Centrale train station if coming from the Rome International Airport, it is recommended to use a taxi or rideshare app like Uber or Freenow.
Experience the Mercure Napoli Centro Angioino, ideally positioned near Naples' historic center for effortless exploration of key attractions. Enjoy local cuisine at the contemporary restaurant and relax in modern rooms with comfortable amenities. Unique features include stunning views of the Castel Nuovo and a blend of modern design with classic architecture.
RETURN FLIGHT BOOKING INFORMATION:
We ask beercationers to please try and NOT book return flights departing before 11:00am. Departures earlier than 11:00am may require you to order taxis to the airport instead of riding with the group on our scheduled group water taxis to the Venice airport.
